Yes, new or eco-tech seems to have a tough up hill battle to contend with.

No new refinery for 20 years, although there is a whiff of one possible in Alberta . . .

I can imagine ExxonMobile and Chevron chatting . . ** A new refinery? What? and reduce the *Golden Goose* value of our retail fuels sales? **

At this rate Big Oil will have all those new credit card computerized gas pumps paid off in no time.

Also, the plot with ethanol thickens. The whole concept is impractical, yet government loves it.

Its taxable at the pump, makes for agra-profits and much employment and it keeps internal combustion engines makers happy.

Lithium powered vehicles, on the other hand may lead to a network of odometer reading kiosks for collection of road taxes.

Otherwise, the efficiency economics of EVs would tend to reduce employment and tax revenues when the wave begins.

I would still enjoy a battery powered Jaguar from Tata Motors [ India], anyway. = TG

Awesome stuff spicy solar guy... and watching the BLM reverse its decision on the solar moratorium last week is just another sad example of how backward and ineffective a bloated government bureaucracy can be when it wants to do no good...

as friedman wrote last week - we desperately need to get real NOW:

It's true. I don't see why they think we won't notice.

Anyway, being sick of both parties, I'm supporting Independent parties and people (like Ron Paul).

Maybe they can crack the shell that keeps our country stale and stuck.

Another great thing to use is hydrogen and oxegyn to power your car!

We discovered it and set up a system for my truck. It works VERY well, and I am pleased. We are actually planning on improving and refining it also.

It saves us some money on our old gas hog Utility vehicles that we just don't want to part with as they are Utility not SUV, and are used for their capabilities often.

It's great that so many people are coming to find alternatives no matter what the government policies are.

It would be nice if politicians actually caught up to and served us the people as they are supposed to and not just serve some hidden agenda, but history shows that has been often the case in politics, so I wouldn't count on it! :)
