Heaven forbid!
How much #$%^& does Arnold have to take from his own Republican party about his stance on the environment. A governor must be a leader, even when what he wants to do may be unfavorable to his own party.
As a result of his leadership, the California Climate Act of 2006, or AB32, was passed. This bill will help improve California's air -- and shows the direction that the rest of our country's leaders should follow.
While some people are attempting to portray this bill as bad for manufacturing and the economy as a whole, I believe the exact opposite to be true. Over 30 percent of venture capital invested in clean tech last year was invested in California companies. A key driver of this investment is California’s history at the forefront of the technology curve.
Where would we be now if California’s vacuum tube industry tried to inhibit the semiconductor industry? Arnold's leadership on AB 32 will stimulate even greater technological innovation and ensure a robust industry supplying the rapidly-growing worldwide demand for clean tech and statewide demand for all solar technologies.
I would think that a silicon valley company with an ounce of professionalism would stay out of party politics - If such polemical rhetoric is representative of solar industry, it is no wonder that solar power has not come close to replacing good ol' fossil fuel generators.

It is disappointing to read a political diatribe on a company sponsored website. If your strategic marketing team designed a sales plan that calls for a tightly focused target market of enviro activists, then you are on plan.
Apparently, you don't want my business as I am just a homeowner in CT interested in energy assistance and not a political activist worthy of your product. A but of advise here: just sell your product and keep your political sniping to yourselves.
It seems my search for a solar engery company run by adults continues.

Like it or not, solar energy *is* a political issue.
Jimmy Carter signed the Windfall Profits tax to be used for alternative energy research, and instituted CAFE standards for the auto industry. This was almost 30 years ago. Ronald Reagan got rid of those laws. Research on solar power has been done on a shoestring; George Bush had to re-fund a research project that he had cut two weeks previously just to make a photo-op. Worse yet, US car manufacturers have cut their own throat because they went for a fast buck making gas guzzlers instead of hybrids.
Tell me this isn't because of politics.

"Ed H", "Rit Reischer", etc.:
So if an industry which has been illegitimately savaged and damaged in its ECONOMIC development quite deliberately by the political process then reflects this market-affecting force in its online blog: this offends you so greatly?
"Enviro-activists"? HELLO: >>THIS IS A BLOG<< . FURTHERMORE, it is titled as being "...Politically Incorrect". Do you see any "call to action", any urging of mass protests, advocacy of illicit behavior, or news of such exploits? How dare you hurl such unfounded accusations around so blithely. JUST WHO THE F*CK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Such a reaction to a single article, in a properly-labeled section, well away from the main pages on the company site, is rife with YOUR OWN POLITICAL ATTITUDES and ENMITY. Given the extremity of your comments, I am given pause to wonder: just what is so offensive to you about solar energy companies?
Your dismissive comment on a blog which, frankly, no-one is holding a gun to you head and telling you to read; speaks volumes about your own viewpoint in all of this; namely, that you insist on YOUR politics being catered to, in what is essentially a business situation. Your comment that "It seems my search for a solar engery [sic] company run by adults continues.", reeks of smug condescention. Are you an engineer, that you should know better than an established business in the industry? Note: BTW, 'adults' know how to spell the word "energy". Do you?
If Akeena's equipment and systems are competitive when compared with other solar energy industry producers, then is this not the primary consideration in seeking energy assistance for your home? Perhaps if it came wrapped up in 'traditional, "conservative" ' trappings, served up by one of the American public-gouging, polluting petroleum monopolist giants, then it would meet with your approval?
Perhaps the sand tastes good down where you have your head stuck in it, because prejudiced attitudes such as yours are part-and-parcel of how the Enron- and Adelphia Communications-type of corruption gets so readily put over on people in this country. Why don't you just run back to Texaco, Exxon-Mobil, BP, and so forth, since they are obviously the only energy companies you would consider to be run by 'adults'?! The rest of us will probably prefer to ignore the occasional minor "flakiness" that so offends you, in order to be able to engage the practical advantages offered by installing multiple energy sourcing for homes, including solar systems.

Dear Stacey,
Before you throw stones at the spelling prowess of others, you might want to check your own: there is no such word as "condescention". I presume you meant "condescension".
Is your "glass house" heated with solar power?

Enjoy your glass house too, Dave.
Stacey didn't write that.

Generally, frequent recourse to ALL-CAPS on the internet is the sign of an overexcitable and unreliable mind. Control yourself.
The larger point is that you can either continue to nurse grudges over what your political opponents did to you in the past, or you can try to expand your list of allies for the future. A lot of Republicans are receptive to solar power, when it is presented in an idiom that they agree with. You are needlessly antagonizing potential customers.

Oh my gosh!
I've just read "The Solar Energy Hand Book of Political Hate."!!!
Oh Please---
First, if you email me don't use big words. I have enough problems using the spell check.
I live in NorCal and I have yet to find a Republican (or Democrat) that is against solar power.
I believe most people don't want to be burnt alive from no ozone or drown from the polar caps melting.
So be PROACTIVE! Demand that your politicians are part of the process. Let them know Abortion, gun ownership(by the way I have "own" quite a few),the enviroment, minimum wage,OR troops in Iraq will not get them re-elected.When was last time you thought your life was that simple.
Rebublican Point-of-View: We must bring our troops home and we can do this by reducing our oil dependency by using solar power.
Democrat Point-of View: We must bring our troops and we can do this by reducing our oil dependency by using solar power.
THE ONLY ENDING- WE WIN!!!
Side Note: I'm a staunch (by definition) Rebublican and yet many people use the "enviroment"
word like they own it.
Before you throw rocks at my glass house, ask the champion of your cause- What does he drive, HOW BIG IS HER HOUSE, do they take commercial flights, will they allow alternative power next to their house?
Do they fish,do they hunt, HAVE THEY CAMPED IN THE WOODS, will they allow alternative power next to their house?
I hunt and fish in CA and will never accept anybody polluting or destroying my land. I may grit my teeth in front of someone who has power over me( don't lie we all have them), but I promise their power is limited and I work towards the limitation of their power.
You don't have to like me but just remember that we are standing on the same step of Maslow's Ladder or only one rung away.
Regards,
MoFo

Connecting the dots....
Republican fat cats controlling energy is a KNOWN FACT. If you have paid attention, we have been bushwacked from every kind of energy company in the history of mankind. It is perfectly correct to talk about the Snuffing out of solar and other alternative energies on a company website, in a political context. This is what we are supposed to do in this country - talk about things - not stick our head in the sand. We never needed oil in the first place. There were dozens of electric car companies in the year 1900. Dr. Tesla sucked free electricity down from the sky in 1890. Problem with this country is the amount of dumbells in it. Wish they would read a book once in awhile instead of shooting their rifle at every tree. Nice thing about solar is you can cut the cord from every rip-off greedy fossil fuel company. Thanks for standing up for a great cause - fresh air!

Big words/verbage, political strife & stances aside, we are all States People trying to live the American Dream. Life as a whole and the world we live in is changing and it's indesputable. The end.
You either accept the fact that ice caps melt, acid rain is brought down by gravity, and people want to make a different path for alternative energy. Let Solar companies sell solar cells and inverters and let gas companies sell oil. Either way things will run out and when they do it is Engineers, Research and Developers, and Scientists working on "The New". If "the new" works let sales increase. If you battle mass-change you're gonna get left behind.
Politicians will always get into office and do what they deem as important or a must during their leadership. Despite what they promise before they're there... they're human, we all do it! But a human that invests time and resources into the betterment of other humans is a true leader. This is done w/o the sacrifice of other humans!
Because we live in a free market society, our consumers will buy what they want, and people want solar and the right company will get the right sale.
Everyone needs to cool their emotions and understand we are not republican and democrat or soldiers and tree-huggers. We're humans and we all depend on the same things to sustain, some just think differently...

Just researching Solar Energy on the web, ran across --out of curiosity--this blog. Shows how emotional and vocal we humans can get. But beyond everyone's verbage is all of us, in our own way, trying to live as sucessfully and healthfully as we can. And we try to pass that on to our children and their children, and to help out our fellow humans while we're at it. That is why I am interested in Solar and other types of alternative power. For anyone interested, there is another alternative power sourse, hydrogen. But hydrogen fuel has one problem--it takes a lot of energy to produce it. With the So Cal sun, and photovoltaics, that might not be such a problem.
For a very interesting read, go to http://www.billingsenergy.com/PR20030716.html A careful read of the whole press release will be an eye-opener...enjoy...
